"Unsung Hero" (Official HD) : TVC Thai Life Insurance 2014 : โฆษณาไทยประ...

There’s a commercial in Thailand that powerfully demonstrates how caring for someone is more meaningful than all the money in the world. This commercial beautifully portrays - simple random acts of kindness. Visually and verbally it reflects how small thoughtful deeds not only bring great joy to the recipients but also to the giver.

I’ve always been a big believer of this mantra. When you do something greater than yourself – the universe rewards you in unimaginable ways.

It’s a stunning demonstration of what is most important in life. How small, individual acts of thoughtfulness create a greater existence. In today’s world, especially the business world, the mantra is usually. “What’s in it for me or What do I get out of this?” If only we could change it to, “What can I do?”

In the commercial the young man helps a street vendor move his heavy cart. He hangs a bunch of bananas on the handle of an old lady’s apartment door. He gives up his seat on the bus. Shares his meal with a hungry dog. Hands over what little cash he has in his wallet to a woman and her young daughter begging on the street. Every day.

The words of the commercial are well worth repeating.

“What does he get in return for doing this each day?

He gets nothing.

He won’t be richer.

He won’t appear on TV.

Still anonymous.

And not a bit more famous.

What he does receive are emotions.

He witnesses happiness.

He reaches a deeper understanding.

Feels the love.

He receives what money can’t buy.

A world made more beautiful.

And in your life?

What is it that you desire most?”

Read those words again. And think about them. Really think about them. And then act upon them. What random acts of kindness can we perform each day? Whose lives can we enrich by being a helping hand? Who can we make happy today? How can we come to forge a deeper understanding and appreciation of ourselves?

And, finally, ask yourself: What is it that you desire most? And then do something about it, even if it feels random.

Silent

I have a silent dream
that sometime sails across
the patterns of my mind
but silence follows me
and dreams just disappear
and then I find myself
inside a silent tear

Sometimes a laugh to much
to hide the emptiness
to lose the loneliness
I'm not the laughing kind
I can't say anything
I really want to say
I guess I try so hard
I stumble on the way

I'm always finding love
when its not meant to be
What is reality?
and can it be defined
when you're a fool like me
its never really clear
so I have silent dreams
inside a silent tear
